Nicky Yates - Manchester Choreographer
Nicky is our Manchester based choreographer and has years of experience dancing on stage and on screen. She was a scholarship holder at the Royal Ballet School and her dancing career has taken her all over the UK and Europe. She now uses her choreography skills to create superb dances for Get Wed couples.
Sam Priestley - Wedding Child Minder
Before becoming a mum, Sam trained and worked as a solicitor. Now, as a Guide leader for over 15 years, she organises weekly sessions for girls aged 10 to 14. She also ran Krafti Kidz, an arts and crafts themed activity for the under fives. When not working with other people's children, she relaxes at home with her two year old twins!
Gemma Thorpe - Dancer: The Get Wed 'Gems'
Gemma attends classes at Dance 4 All in Halifax and enjoys creative and street dance. She was picked to perform a solo piece in a recent show and is now working towards her next performance. Although she loves R 'n' B, as a Get Wed Gem, she dances to tracks by artists such as Scouting For Girls, Queen and Bobby Darin!
Gemma - Dancer: The Get Wed 'Gems'
Gemma has been dancing for three years.She's performed at venues such as Halifax's Victoria Theatre and has even put on her own shows, raising money for Cancer Research UK. She has sung, danced and performed since she was a little girl and is now one of the Get Wed Gems!
Lisa McCann A.I.S.T.D:Choreographer & Vocalist
After training at Performers College, Lisa has travelled the world as a dancer, singer and choreographer. An accomplished actress, she has performed in venues such as Leeds City Varieties, The Buxton Opera House and Wembley Stadium. She now works as a freelance dance and drama teacher and creates magical first dances for Get Wed.
James McCann - DJ, Compere & Vocalist
Among many roles, James has been a gameshow host, a dodgy elvis and a circus ringmaster! He's an accomplished presenter and singer and has written and directed shows for holiday resorts, theatres and cabaret artists. Before creating Get Wed he was Resorts Entertainment Director for six major holiday venues. Check the Get Wed blog to find out more...
Who are we?
Get Wed was founded by Lisa and James McCann in September 2007. They first met on Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines in 1999 and have performed together on ships, in hotels and theatres all over the UK. When their daughter arrived, they decided to start their own business, utilising all their live entertainment skills. They now provide great DJs, live singers and dance lessons for wedding receptions, parties and corporate events across the North of England and the Midlands.
